Section 3.11
Settings:
Use the Site Settings to administer your global settings. There are 5 main sections; general, site-wide meta data, the look & feel of the website, FAQ configuration and the product catalog of your site.

General Sub-Section
Through the “General” section you may modify the Site Name and the Site Domain Name. It is recommended that these settings remain fixed. If you desire to modify either setting please contact your Internet Business Consultant for specific instructions and recommendations.
You may also modify the email addresses associated with your website. To change either email address, simply type in the new address in the appropriate box and select the “save changes” button on the bottom of the page. If you desire to verify the email address through your website, select the “check” button on the specific email and a test message will be generated to that address. A message window will appear to verify that a message has been sent to the addressee.
Site-Wide Meta Data Sub-Section
Through the “site-wide meta data” section you may modify information used by search engines to rate and rank your website. This information has been tailored to each specific page of your website and should not be modified through this section. It is recommended that these settings remain fixed.
Alt Text: For user agents that cannot display images, forms, or applets, this attribute specifies alternate text.
Several non-textual elements (images, forms, or applets) let authors specify alternate text to serve as content when the element cannot be rendered normally. Specifying alternate text assists users without graphic display terminals, users whose browsers don't support forms, visually impaired users, those who use speech synthesizers, those who have configured their graphical user agents not to display images, etc.
You may also modify the email addresses associated with your website. To change either email address, simply type in the new address in the appropriate box and select the “save changes” button on the bottom of the page. If you desire to verify the email address through your website, select the “check” button on the specific email and a test message will be generated to that address. Look and feel section
Through this sub-section you may modify the fonts, colors and look of your website. You may also specify the number of items appearing on a page for the Links, FAQ and News module sections of your website, and choose your prefered layout for your Our People information.
The colors palette available for you to choose are:
Web Safe Colors: Web Safe, or Browser Safe palettes as they are also referred to, consist of 216 colors that display solid, non-dithered, and consistent on any computer monitor, or web browser, capable of displaying at least 8-bit color (256 colors). The reason why this palette contains only 216 colors, instead of the maximum 256 colors, is that only 216 out of the basic 256 colors will display exactly the same on all computers.
MAC OS Palette: The Color Palette is a small floating window through which you can choose colors for text, objects, lines, and other objects for MAC OS computers.
Wyndows System Palette: The Color Palette is a small floating window through which you can choose colors for text, objects, lines, and other objects for Wyndows System computers.
Grey Scale Palette: Shows you all variety of black and grey colors to choose.
If you desire to modify either setting please contact your Internet Business Consultant for specific instructions and recommendations.
FAQ Configuration Settings sub-Section
Through the “FAQ configuration settings” you may modify how to display FAQ content. There are 3 different layouts:
Layout 1: This layout displays a list of categories with their corresponding questions and answers on the same page. You can define how many questions to display per page and use the next buttons to browse to your FAQ answer fields:

Layout 2: This layout displays a list of categories available to the visitor on a single page.

When the user selects a category of interest, a new page is displayed showing the questions within that category with their corresponding answers.

Layout 3: This layout allows classifying questions by categories. The user will see a list of questions by categories and the answer will be displayed on a separate page.

This page displays the category, the answer and the question.

You can enable or disable the search option on the FAQ page by checking the box “Enable search option.” If you enable the search option the user will see the search option displayed on the FAQ page as shown in the following window:

If you disable the search option the user will see the FAQ content without the functionality to search by keywords.
Product Catalog Setting Sub-Section
These settings affect the Product Catalog. Currently, you can define how many products are listed per page and how many products are going to be listed per row. You may also specify the fields you want to display on a page. Also, you can specify the image column width. This setting prevents odd column widths while showing products. The missing thumbnail width is used when no thumbnail is supplied and the large image for a product or category needs to be scaled down to this size. Sizes are in pixels.
