Section 3.13

The Extra Page Module is a versatile and dynamic tool for your website. This module enables the website administrator to add unlimited pages to a website and create an easy hyperlink from one webpage to a newly created additional page. This database driven module allows the creation of unique WebPages with a specific URL (that is associated with your website URL) assigned to each page. This module includes the easy to use Page Content Manager, with a WYSIWYG text editor and image manager, enabling full editing capabilities on every additional page. When used in conjunction with Section Management feature, the website administrator has the ability to create new pages within new content sections.

To begin using the Extra Page module, select the “Content Manager” section of the administration system website. Select the “Extra Pages” navigation from the “database Content” section.

Once you have selected the “Extra Pages”, you will be presented with the administration page of this module. From this page, you can create new pages, as well as edit or delete existing pages.

To create a new page, simply select “Add a new record” found at the bottom of the page and you will have a blank editor page presented on the screen. This page is shown in the following example.

This page requires you to name the page a unique name, and then using the Page Content Manager, to create and maintain the page content. To establish a unique page name, fill in the field “Page Name”.

Important! The page name must be formatted as a single name, without blank spaces.

For example, “AboutUs” is acceptable, whereas “About Us” is an unacceptable Page Name.

Once you have completed the Page Name field, proceed to create the webpage content using the Page Content Manager capabilities. Remember, if you want to add images, you must first upload the images to the website through the “Images Manager” and then use “Images” to insert the images.

To save the new webpage, simply select the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen and your webpage is now securely saved on your host server. The page is now displayed as an existing record under the Page Name field.

To edit an existing page, select the desired page in the Extra Pages section listing by clicking on the “Edit” button to the right of the Page Name. You will then have the existing page displayed as follows.

Now you may add, modify or delete the text and images on the selected page.

The next step is to create the hyperlink between your website and the newly created webpage. In order to create this hyperlink, you will return to the “Page Content” section of the Administrative Website and select the "Section Manager page".

Once that you are on the Section Manager page, click on Add New Button; type the name of your Extra Page on the Menu label; select Specific link as a button type and, in the URL box type the following: page.asp?page="the name given to your page at the Extra Page module". In this case will be: page.asp?page=Test. Finally, give a buttton position to your new page created and click "Add."

Now, let see how our new page "Test" looks like in the front-end of our website:

Remember, you can link "new extra pages" to multiple WebPages by simply applying these instructions to any selected webpage. They may not always appear as a main webpages as our prior example but you may also create subpages as we will describe below.

Once you have opened the page from which the new page will be hyperlinked, use the “Hyperlink” button on the Page Content Manager Toolbar to complete the establishment of this new page within your website.

The first step in establishing this page is to create the target statement or image on the webpage. Once you have typed the target statement in the Page Content area where you want to place the hyperlink, “paint” over the target with your mouse (in the following example, the target is “HERE” and click on the “Hyperlink” button on the toolbar, as shown in the following example.

Once you select the “Hyperlink” button, you will see a pop-up window appear, where you will enter in the information necessary to create your hyperlink.

In order to create the correct hyperlink, you will enter the term “page?” followed by the exact Page Name assigned to the specific extra page. Or page.asp?page=the Page Name

Or you may use the full URL, by typing in:

http://www.yourdomain.com/page?Test

You do not need to have an exact match on capital and small letters, but do need to ensure that the name is entered correctly.

Next click on the “Save Changes” button located at the bottom of the “Edit Page” to complete the hyperlink. Your hyperlink will now appear on the selected page on your website and will display your extra page when the hyperlink is activated by a user.

To delete an existing "extra page", go back to the "Extra Page module" and select the “delete” button to the right of the specific page. You will be asked to confirm your deletion of the specified page. To delete the page, click on “OK” or to retain the page, click on “Cancel”.
