Section 3.18

Small Business IIA 2.6 conforms to The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) level 1 developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). At the administration section of your SBIIA 2.6 you will find the below Quick Start Guide you need to follow to facilitate the development of an accessible website*

SBIIA 2.6 Accessibility Features:

  1. Equivalent text links are provided for every image link in the navigation bar
  2. Our PCM allows you to include alternate (ALT) image text
  3. Images that are not inserted via the PCM have an ALT text filed available
  4. Our SBIIA 2.6 sites remain readable when rendered without style sheets (CSS)
  5. SBIIA 2.6 data tables are rendered using the header cells (TH) required by W3C
  6. SBIIA 2.6 is a frame-free solution, which also benefits Search Engine Optimization

Site Administrators, follow these Guidelines when Editing Content:

  1. Make sure that you fill the Title field to include alternate text when inserting images using the PCM.
  2. When using animation, such as Flash©. Include an audio description together with the animation, or a text description of the animation within the site's content.
  3. Make sure that the audio description of the animation is synchronized with the animation content.
  4. Don't refer to site content using only a color reference. For example, when asking for input from users, do not write "Please select an item from those listed in green." Instead, ensure that information is available through other style effects and through context. You may write "Please select an item from list A."
  5. Use clear and simple language to write your site's content:

6. When drawing tables, use content editor view source functionality to input header cell (TH) tags.

* Accessibility compliance in SBIIA 2.6 is limited to the original functionality of the product. Any modification to the content that does not adhere to W3C guidelines may affect the compliance of the site. This guide is merely informative and does not imply any responsibility from WSI or its affiliates in the composition of the site content.
