Administration of Blank Templates

Your website may be based on a Blank Template, Customizable template or a Pre-made template. If you wish to install a new blank template into your SBE site, please look in your administration system for "Template Images" and follow seven simple steps described below.

• Blank templates are based on simple layouts.
• Layouts are made out of images.
• Images can be replaced in the backend of the site to create a graphic template.
• The template used in this example is Blank Template One, Layout Option One.

• Create a site in SBE using the blank template mentioned above.
• This is the initial look of the front end of your site.
• Images may have a fixed or unrestricted size, the layout images will show you what the measurements are for each.
• The height measurement in background images is the minimum height that the correspondig area will take, if you add elements that extend longer, the height will stretch to accomodate them.
• As you will see in this example the background images do not have to have the exact same measurements as the area that will contain them, as these images will tile in the background.

• The following are the instructions provided to you on the back end of your site. They will guide you on how to replace the images of your layout to create your own graphic template.

Instructions:

1. Click on the image file name to view the full size version of the image.
2. Each image has a defined size. Build and cut your template to fit in these areas.
3. Some images are treated as backgrounds, meaning they will tile if the area containing them exceeds the image size.
4. You can use small solid color or patterned images to fill the background areas.
5. Use this feature to upload the images for your template. Just make sure the file name of the image to be uploaded matches exactly the file name of the image you wish to replace.
6. It is recommended that you open the front end of your site in a separate browser window and that you refresh/reload the front end after you make a modification to the images of the template.
7. When using Flash Templates you may need to empty your browser's cache before reloading the front end of your site
8. If you did not select a Flash template and upload a Flash file, it will not display.
9. You may use the checkbox to the left of the file name and press the upload and delete button to delete images.

• After you make changes in the back end, open the front end of your site in a separate browser window. Reload the page to see your updated site
• When using Flash Templates please empty your browser's cache before reloading the front end of your site

• This is an example of how you will prepare your template images to replace the predefined layout images
• As you can see filenames match exactly those of the predefined layout images
• Background images match exactly the width measurement of the area that will contain them, the height is not a necesary match as the image will tile in the background

• If you wish to add color to the background go to the settings area in the administrative interface of your site
